You have several choices as to how to listen to our station. First, you can check to see if we are broadcasting “live”, from our own server. This is an “ad free” broadcast. We broadcast in both MP3 as well as the higher quality OGG Vorbis format. The MP3 stream will play in almost any media player, including Windows Media Player. Probably one of the best players to receive our OGG broadcast on is Winamp. It’s FREE and works great for our station. Another free player is VLC Media Player, although minimal, it also works “out of the box”. You can download

After installing Winamp or VLC, click on “File” and from the drop down menu select “Play URL”. When the window pops up enter our URL

http://gcmr.myvnc.com:8000/gcmr.ogg.

If we are broadcasting it should buffer for a couple of seconds and begin playing.

The reason the URL is different is because I have a dynamic ISP which could change so I am using a monitoring service which provides a static URL within a minute of an ISP change. If you should loose signal, try pushing the “play button” again on Winamp. I’m going to be doing a lot of testing and I should have some DMCA approved playlists worked up shortly so everyone gets equal air time.
